BELLARINE BEE WRAPS
About Bellarine Bee Wraps
Bellarine Bee Wraps was born from a simple belief: that small, thoughtful choices made every day can have a meaningful impact on both our homes and the environment.
What began in 2014 as a way to reduce our family’s reliance on plastic quickly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined. From my home studio in Clifton Springs on Victoria’s beautiful Bellarine Peninsula, I handcrafted thousands of reusable Beeswax Wraps, Beeswax Balm and Unpaper Towels, each made with care and a genuine desire to encourage more sustainable everyday living.
Along the way, I had the privilege of meeting incredible people through markets, stockists and conservation projects. Many of you became much more than customers—you became friends, supporters and part of a community that shared a love of beautiful handmade products and a commitment to caring for our environment.
The Beginning
Like many small businesses, Bellarine Bee Wraps started at home.
My husband and I wanted to raise our daughters with an appreciation for nature and the value of simple, sustainable habits. Our vegetable garden, silky hens, compost bins and home-cooked meals became part of family life, and reusable beeswax wraps naturally found their place alongside them.
Our girls happily wrapped sandwiches and freshly picked vegetables for kindergarten and school, and what started as something I made for our own family soon became something friends began requesting as well.
Before long I found myself packing the car each weekend to attend markets across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast. Those market mornings remain some of my happiest memories—not simply because I was selling products, but because I was able to spend my weekends talking with people who genuinely cared about reducing waste, supporting local makers and living a little more thoughtfully.
As the business grew, your ideas and conversations inspired me to expand my range to include my multi-purpose Beeswax Balm and reusable Unpaper Towels, products that have become favourites for many loyal customers.
A New Chapter
Creative businesses have a way of leading us in unexpected directions.
Over the years, my lifelong love of fabrics, colour and design gradually evolved into a passion for textile design, quilting and creating fabric collections. Today, my work centres on those creative pursuits under my own name, Kassandra Carlson.
While Bellarine Bee Wraps is no longer my primary focus, it remains a very special part of my story. It taught me so much, introduced me to lifelong friendships, and ultimately opened the door to the creative career I enjoy today.
I am no longer producing new Beeswax Wraps or attending markets, allowing me to devote my time to designing fabrics and quilting. However, my much-loved Beeswax Balm remains available while stocks last for those customers who continue to return to it year after year.
If you’ve found your way here looking for the balm, welcome—you can still purchase it through the shop, and I’m so grateful for your continued support.
Thank You
To every customer who visited my market stall, every stockist who believed in a small local business, every conservation organisation I had the privilege of working alongside, and every family who chose to replace a little plastic with something handmade—thank you.
Bellarine Bee Wraps will always be one of the most rewarding chapters of my journey, and I will always be grateful that you were part of it.
With heartfelt thanks,
Kassandra Carlson
